Mon avis : On retrouve Smoky et son équipe et ce, avec plaisir! Ils font face à un tueur qui vise des personnes ayant de grands secrets et ayant apparement commencé à tuer depuis fort longtemps... Le retrouveront-il? En saura-t-on plus sur Smoky? Je n'en dirai pas plus mais j'attends la sortie du quatrième tome en anglais avec impatience.

Mon avis : De temps en temps je lis en anglais et après Shadow Man, je n'ai pas pu attendre la sortie en français de ce livre de Cody McFdyen. Je garde une préférence pour le 1er mais j'ai encore une fois été happée par l'intrigue. On est parfois plongé dans le journal de Sarah ce qui apporte une touche d'originalité à ce roman.

Résumé : L'agent du FBI Smoky Barrett pensait avoir connu l’enfer lorsque son mari et sa fille ont été sauvagement abattus devant elle par un serial killer. Traumatisée, elle ne peut plus exercer son métier. Mais l’effroyable perversion d’un tueur en série la force à reprendre du service…
Shadowman a torturé et tué de manière terrifiante Annie King, tout en épargnant la petite fille de cette dernière … Il a filmé cet acte abominable puis envoyé la vidéo au FBI, mettant au défi Smoky Barrett et son équipe de l’arrêter.
Prétendu descendant de Jack l'Éventreur, Shadowman est un génie tordu qui défie toutes les tentatives du profileur pour le comprendre. Il impose à Smoky un jeu macabre, qu’elle n’aura d’autre choix que d’accepter. D'autant que Bonnie, la fille de la victime, réveille chez elle quelque chose qu’elle croyait disparu pour toujours. Et, tandis que ce monstre dérangé s’engouffre dans un délire de meurtres et de perversions, la soif de vengeance de Smoky la ramène à la vie. Quitte à affronter ses plus grandes peurs en tant qu'agent du FBI, femme, mère… et peut-être prochaine victime d’un tueur sans merci.

Mon avis : J'avais peur qu'il soit un peu dur ou d'être déçue... et bien non! Je l'ai terminé en même pas 2 jours. Une fois commencé, dur de le lâcher!
